New Shipboard Environmental Control and
Monitoring Systems Contract with Maersk
Tidal Engineering was recently awarded the contract to supply
it's TECMS Shipboard Environmental Control and Monitoring system under a new Military Sealift Command (MSC) contract awarded to Maersk Lines.
The Tidal Engineering Environmental Control and Monitoring System
(TECMS) has gotten rave reviews at many existing installations. Ship crew's have reported the system is "One of the best on the Ship". Ship

Pre-positioning
Ships".
The contract will convert two Maersk Lines ships for
pre-positioning duty. The M/V Innovation and the M/V Newark Bay will be two of the largest container ships in the fleet.
Tidal Engineering has been supplying TECMS systems on MSC ships for 5 years. Capabilities of the systems include:
- Temperature and humidity control in more than 32 separate spaces.
- Logging and graphing environmental histories for cargo spaces.
- Logging and graphing ambient and sea water
conditions.
- Generating reports and signaling faults on ship
engine room alarms.
- Wireless data upload via satellite.
Tidal Engineering designed the SBC485B single board computers used on the TECMS systems specifically for shipboard data acquisition applications. The system also uses the robust and powerful NT hosted
Think & Do software control system, the
industry recognized leader for PC based controls.
